Our Board of Directors

Ashley Nesladek

President

Ashley Nesladek is an educator, researcher, and community leader dedicated to helping diverse learners discover the power they hold when they learn to read, write, and speak effectively. She holds a master’s degree in Learning, Development, and Family Sciences, where her published thesis examined the barriers and tools of resilience experienced by skilled tradeswomen. She presented this work at the American Educational Research Association Annual Conference. She is now pursuing a Doctor of Education in Leadership for Educational Equity, Justice, Equity, and Diverse Identities at CU Denver.

As Board President of The Standard Project, Ashley draws on her experience preparing legal filings, building and tracking budgets, leading board trainings, and connecting with community stakeholders to advance the organization’s mission and vision. Her commitment to equity extends well beyond the classroom: she serves as Vice Chair of the Douglas County Equity Advisory Council, and she chairs the Justice, Equality, and Diverse Identities (JEDI) Committee at her school. Guided by relationship, accountability, and a belief in every person’s potential, Ashley is dedicated to building programs and partnerships that create lasting opportunity.

Deztiny Martinez

Vice President

As Vice President, I am passionate about helping turn the vision of The Standard Project into meaningful action. I work alongside our leadership to strengthen our organization’s direction, support strategic growth, and build connections between our board and the communities we serve. I believe lasting change begins with meaningful relationships, shared purpose, and the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to redefine their future. I am committed to helping create those opportunities and building stronger communities, one standard at a time.

Having been part of the vision and development of The Standard Project from its early beginnings, I bring a personal investment in seeing its mission grow beyond an idea and into a lasting impact. My strengths include relationship-building, networking, community outreach, communication, and helping create opportunities for collaboration with other organizations. I am passionate about connecting people, building meaningful partnerships, and using creativity and strategic thinking to help expand our reach, strengthen our presence, and bring greater awareness to the work we do.
